In 2018 two brand new government offices arose at Hoi Ting Road in Yau Ma Tei. The area and buildings are constructed by design of renowned architectural firm of Andrew Lee King Fun & Associates Architects. The two glass towers hold over 79 000 m2 (850 345 ft2) of office space for government use, as well as a number of arts and educational venues.
Our installation Partner JEC was selected to provide building maintenance solutions for the two towers (called north and south tower) and XSPlatforms supported in the design.
For cleaning and repair purposes a number of different facade access solutions are installed around the two towers. First off, both towers are equipped with their own traversing and telescopic roof car, with the largest of the two being installed on the south tower. This building maintenance unit has a maximum telescopic outreach of approx. 21,5 meters (70.5 feet). All main functions of both roof cars are identical.
Further we integrated a ceiling-mounted XS110-type monorail systems on the inside of both towers. Maintenance personnel can access these systems by means of the included self-hoisting gondola, which is interchangeable between the two systems.
