Cradles

As Facadexs we are proud to have produced different types of gondolas. A cradle is a vital part of any building maintenance unit.

It’s all about Thrill, High Speeds
and Top Level Risk

Extreme Sports

Gondolas – or cradles – are working platforms attached to a Building Maintenance Unit (BMU). They descent along a facade, transporting window cleaners or maintenance staff. Some gondolas are unrestrained and hang in front of the facade, while others are secured to the facade with a cradle restraint system. This could be for example Lanyards (ISA), soft ropes, combination of both, mullion guides, transfer rails or pull in restraints systems (for negative facades)

Working safe inside a cradle

In our vision, users inside a cradle at great heights must be able to do their work easily, safely and ergonomically. Through customization, we can incorporate the intended application of the BMU into its design.

Ergonomic Design

Our unique creation of an ergonomic designed cradle allows workers to work on the facade in front of them while keeping a good posture – without straining the lower back. Also, the tall back side of the cradle gives an increased sense of security.

With our customer’s desired functionalities in mind, we can design ergonomic cradles for maximum usability.

We stand for ergonomic and innovative cradles that our users will appreciate.

Standard cradles

We produce a series of standard cradles.

By default, our cradles are 2.4 m (8 ft.) wide, but in some cases their width can be customized to meet special requirements.

User-friendly cradles

Designed from a user’s view point.

The User-friendly cradle is equipped with innovative functions that effectively deal with the drawbacks of working at heights inside a cradle.

Pantograph cradles

A pantograph cradle is essentially a cradle that is balanced by a counterweight situated behind it.

They are designed for buildings with uneven facades or facades with protruding elements.

Self hoisting cradles

A self-hoisting cradle is equipped with a hoisting mechanism.
Self-hoisting cradles can be suspended from roof cars, but most of the time they will be used in combination with a gantry or monorail solution.
